We went to the Thurston County Fair last weekend. The girls had a good time touching all the animals, although the youngest proved much faster at jumping into the mix than the oldest. That must be her life experience showing itself.
Eventually, she was all over it.
We spent the entire day at the fair and spent much of that time watching the girls’ cousin rack up a bunch of ribbons down at the arena with her horse. It was fun, but hot and long. About 8 hours we spent in the dust. No joke – 9 to 5.
Yes, that is my child lying in the dirt under a tree, sleeping. She’s lucky we had a blanket in the car. Cousin Kels is beyond, just between the fence boards, kicking some serious 4-H booty in arena.
Staying clean has never been a priority in our family, but even for clean people, I would think that with a two-year-old and a three-year-old, there comes a time when napping becomes even more important than staying clean…
