Well, this is it, my first blog. Feeling like all eyes are on me now and not sure what to say… a bit of stage-fright I guess. Anywho, photos are on the way and I’m still trying to figure out how to get a subtitle onto my homepage. So, onto blogging I guess… I love the first of year, new beginnings, etc. Here’s why: I love a clean slate and the feeling that this year is going to be even better than the last. Also, I’m a planner, so the beginning of the year is always the most fun because of all the planning. By the end of the year, I’m just struggling to stay afloat with all the great plans I made several months earlier (I specialize in setting unattainable goals), and daydreaming about what I’ll do different the next year. So, here are some goals and stuff for 2009: hand make all gifts (unless of course a gift card is way more suited to the particular recipient), get rid of about half our stuff and streamline the house, save more money – all perfectly attainable, right? Well, I have several projects started for the coming year of gift giving. One in particular that I’m very excited about is a stuffed, felt unicorn for daughter #1. Apparently the only thing Santa forgot to bring her was a pink unicorn. If someone had bothered to tell Santa that she wanted a pink unicorn for Christmas, I’m sure he would have obliged; however, Santa didn’t hear anything about it until Christmas day. Apparently someone needs a lesson in planning ahead. Anyway, I just picked up all the supplies today and it’s going to be a Valentine unicorn. I’ve also started a gift for my youngest nephew who turns one in April; however, that one will take a back seat for a little while as I’ve realized that projects get completed on time when they’re done in order of priority, not in order of “most fun to craft” first. Well, with my schedule, I’ll be lucky to update this blog once a week, so we’ll see how it goes. At least I know I always have someone to talk to who won’t judge me, or argue, or ask “why” a million times… I hope.
