Fabric Gift Bags

It’s official. I’m quitting disposable gift wrap. I’m really only saying this because I didn’t have any appropriate wrap for “Baby Downdan’s” (Olive’s pronunciation – not even close) first birthday gift the other night and do you think I was going out to buy another over-priced gift bag that would end up in the garbage, or in “Baby Dowdan’s” used gift bag stash? Hell to the NO!

So, instead I made the best ever fabric gift bag. Polka dot baby corduroy + teensy chocolate dot lining = effing cute!

This was a total last minute make that I made up as I went, so now I just need to recreate it so I can make a pattern because I’m totally going to do this again. I’m pretty sure.

P.S. Speaking of bags… One more reason kids are both awesome and weird: The girls fought over who got to carry the dogs’ poop home from our walk to the mail box. No joke. There was crying even. Don’t worry, the poop was in a plastic bag. Ultimately, Olive won the privledge, mostly because Mona was on Dave’s shoulders and he put his foot down at the prospect of Carl’s poop dangling beneath his nose the rest of the way home.
